The New Superfood
Nutritionally one if the richest foods on the planet, Goji Berries from Tibet will be on retailers' shelves from September onwards-selling fro up to 9 pounds for a vacuum- sealed 250g pack.
Containing 500times more vitamin C than oranges, Tibetans, many of whom eat a handful a day, call them happy berries. They look like a red raisin and taste like a cranberry crossed with a cherry.
Goji Berries have more meta-carotene than carrots, are rich in iron and a good source of vitamins B and E, antioxidants, 18 amino acids, proteins, polysaccharides and 21 trace minerals.
They are seen as an ideal healthy to breakfast cereals or smoothies.
Goji Berries are also grown elsewhere in Himalayan region but the Tibetan variant, is considered to be the best and the most authentic. In fact many suppliers are trying to pass inferior Chinese or Mongolian berries off as Tibetan.
They are vine grown without fertilizers or chemicals, hand picked and naturally sun dried without additives or preservatives in the pristine atmosphere of the high Himalayas. Its pure environment and rich clean soil make a Tibetan Goji berries the best available.
